Blue Fire

Blue Zircon is known for it's fire and brilliance, sometimes mistaken for diamond due to its sparkling luster. It's a birthstone for those born in December, although of course can be worn by anyone. Blue zircon has so many fun facts:

1. Has the unique distinction of being the oldest mineral on earth at 4.4 billion years
2. Is pleochroic, meaning it can appear to be different colors when viewed from various angles.  Often you will see shades of sea green in an otherwise cerulean blue zircon.  
3. Was revered and admired immensely during the Victorian era and was a popular gemstone among the British elite in the 1880s.
