We've scoured our archives hunting down the identity of mystery man. Do you know who it could be? It might be George IV, King of the United Kingdom and Hanover from 1820 to 1830. Or perhaps another royal figure?
This is a likely a commemorative piece circa 1950's. We suspect it was originally a pin, then converted into a ring by Birks. Even if we don't know exactly who this is, we know this is a very special ring. These pearls are natural, commonly found in vintage items like this but hard to find these days. The shield shape, the enamel...we will be sad to see this one go.

- Stamped "Birks" Henry Birks and Sons is a Canadian company that opened it's first store in Montreal in 1879. Starting in 1901, Birks oversaw the expansion of the company across Canada, with stores opening in the country's largest cities.
